Role of the Tax Deed Department

The Tax Deed Department oversees the sale of tax deeds. The Clerk’s Office is also responsible for determining who may be entitled to surplus money left over from a sale pursuant to Florida Statute. The Clerk’s Office is authorized to refer issues involving tax deed surpluses to a private attorney.
